Singapore has a reputation of being ‘Southeast Asia Lite’. It’s clean and almost clinical. The streets are safe, there are surveillance cameras everywhere. People are polite, there are wonderful places to eat and enjoy fantastic opportunities for family fun.

But Singapore has some well know places which take advantage of it’s reputation for wonderful family fun in a safe environments. This may not be southeast Asia in the raw – but is is a place where the entire family can simply enjoy themselves.

And one of the best places to do that is East Coast Park in Singapore.  Here is some guidance from us.

Easy Coast Park can now be accessed easily via the incredibly efficient underground / overground train system that is know as the MRT. Any person, or family can get to the East Coast with a minimum of fuss and bother – and once you are there the opportunities for fun and entertainment are almost unlimited.

Bike hire is simple and you are not limited to single seaters. Families can enjoy tandem cycles or other types of bikes. For those who want to enjoy their own modes of wheel based enjoyment the seaside promenade is custom made for inline skating or skateboarding.

For those who want to get wet the opportunities are numerous. Get in a Kayak, windsurf or simply laze about in the gentle swells that are part and parcel of this part of the world. But beware of the biting insects that are prevalent on this part of the beach – apply insect repellent liberally.

However if you don’t want to partake in water sports then Singapore food will be something that will tempt you never to leave the region again. it is simply amongst the best in the world.

First, for those who enjoy beer is to simply ignore the European beers and go for the local option – Tiger. Then you simply have to try Seremban Beef Noodles from Mr Wong.Or alternatively just try anything. In Singapore it really is difficult to find a street food or something from a ‘food market’ that really is bad.

So The East Coast Park just has it all. You could go to other parts of Singapore and get bits and pieces of the entire Singapore experience – the problem is that it’ll be a bit scattered.

The wonder of the East Coast Park experience is that it’s all there. You can look back from the ocean and see the high rise buildings and wonder what it would be live there. And also think about fold who have experienced huge property value growth now that the area is so accessible. You can turn your head and look at the ocean. You can look down and see some of the best food in the world.
